Invited businesses only
After extensive research, businesses are invited to join Word of Mouth – businesses cannot simply join without being invited to do so. By using this model, we strive to keep standards high and hope you will be delighted with the services or products you buy.
We do appreciate this cannot always be the case for every customer. If you are not satisfied, firstly try to resolve your differences with the business first. Mistakes happen, but it is often how businesses respond which sets the lasting impression. Please give the business a chance to rectify any problems.
If you are still disappointed with the goods or services you receive from one of the businesses, please tell us. We always welcome feedback on businesses whether good, bad or indifferent.
To maintain high standards we use the familiar system of Yellow and Red Cards.
The Yellow Card
Turning up late or not phoning back can be frustrating however this kind of thing is not a Yellow Card offence. However if we have repeated complaints about a business failing to provide a quality service or value for money, we’ll show the yellow card.
The Red Card
Two yellow cards and the business will be removed from future magazines and our website. Red cards will also be issued if we have clear evidence of:
Any malpractice, harassment, fraudulent behaviour, overcharging, poor workmanship or incompetence will lead to an immediate red card.
